This is mostly a blog of everyday stories from my work as a primary school counselor. Some are funny, some are touching, but they all stand out as memorable moments. Sometimes I'll include photos, ideas that are working for me, and meaningful quotes. Enjoy!

Impressively Honest!
Something heartwarming happened in my last class one Friday. As I walked into a second grade room, the teacher was telling a little girl that she'd have to change her behavior clip because of something that had just happened at lunch. While I was putting up a poster in preparation for my class, a DIFFERENT girl walked up to the teacher's desk and said quietly, "I want to be honest with you. She didn't break that rule. I did." The teacher had the two girls correct the behavior clips, and I was able to tell the girl who had told the truth how much I appreciated her courage. It was SO refreshing to see that this little child had listened to her conscience and done the right thing, even though it got her in trouble. I admire her, and I'm sure her teacher does, too! But the MOST important thing is that I know she's proud of HERSELF!
